Traditional, Burmese Marionette. Yok-thei probably from Myanmar, used in classical theatre perfomances. Features a wooden head with distinctive ornate pagoda shaped crown and (white painted) lovely face. it wears a rich, layered, brown costume, heavily adorned with sequins, beads and gold embroidery. These puppets were typically made of yamane wood. The strings are in good condition but will need looking at. She has been stored so will beneft from some tlc.
