Vintage 1940s- 1970s-modern pink (red), ecru & blue knitted jumper

I haven't really got any idea as to how old this piece is although it has a very 1940s shape I suspect that it's newer than that, possibly 1970s. I believe the material is cotton but I can not say defiantly.
