Rare Vintage c1920s Pathescope Pathex Speed Regulator (?) for Baby 9.5 Projector

There are adjustable slides on each slide, from minimum to maximum - one side for lamp and one side for motor. There is a dial on the front, going up to 0.7 (ampere’s I think). There are 2 x connecting / power leads coming from the back.
