Made to order in 1896 by Michele Mareata E Figli of Naples. This extremely rare mandolin has a traditional bowl back which has been beautifully scalloped unlike any I have seen before. I’ve asked multiple mandolin experts and they believe this style may be unique. Hand crafted Mother of Pearl inlay on fret board and monogram “AJ”. The bowled back is beautiful, the front however has been repaired poorly and needs some attention to make perfect. Price reflects condition. Case included (which closes and latches) but this has seen better days.
